Frontier Town is an RV resort and campground located at 6245 E Cave Creek Rd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331. It offers cabins, RV/tent sites, and vacation rentals. The property offers many amenities, including a water park, western theme park, 75-slip marina, jet ski rentals, on-site restaurant, and mini-golf.
Its theme park is modeled after a nineteenth century frontier town and features dioramas from popular culture and folklore. In 1998, the theme park closed, but it was soon reopened. Unfortunately, finances dropped and the park was neglected for several years. The theme park has since closed. There are no current plans to reopen it, but special interest groups are attempting to revive it, and have it designated a historic site.
Despite the recent closure, the park was once a bustling tourist attraction. It opened in the late 1940s and was once home to 2,000 visitors a day. The park’s fate has since been uncertain, but its past remains a fascinating record of the state’s development and evolution. Its history and architecture are worth learning about. learn more here
It was home to a number of famous people, including John Quigley. The town’s log chapel was completed in 1961. The town is also home to a deluxe rest stop, complete with bathrooms and food. There are also events in French and English, which are conducted in an authentic setting. There’s even a Frontier Town Facebook page!
Frontier Town was a hit with locals and tourists alike. In the early days, it was a way for people to experience life in the old west. The town was founded by Arthur Bensen, a Staten Island phone tech who had a vision of the place. The original town was located in Schroon Lake, New York, part of the Adirondack Mountains.
In addition to being a historical landmark, the Adirondack Park’s Frontier Town campground serves as a gateway to the High Peaks area. In addition to providing a campground, the Frontier Town campground also features equestrian riding fields, playgrounds, and hiking trails along the Schroon River.
The project cost an estimated $30 million and has evolved into a much bigger project than just a campground. Many North Country government officials – many of them Republicans – see the project as a sign that Governor Cuomo is paying attention to the area. However, the project has not yet fulfilled its original promise.
Frontier Town is designed to be accessible to people of all abilities. It includes ADA-compliant features, such as wheelchair-accessible restrooms, accessible picnic tables, and two ADA-compliant horse mounting ramps. ADA-compliant restrooms and showers are also available at the Frontier Town state campground. More!
The town is a popular destination for school groups. The Pioneer Living History Museum consists of reconstructed buildings, including two little homes. The museum’s emphasis is on life during the territorial period of Arizona.
